February 2012 Note from the Pastor Thank You HPC! Thank You! Yes, as of January 15th I have been at HPC for five years. Wow! And your gift of a weekend at The Charm Countryview Inn is so thoughtful and I so appreciate it. And thank you for the additional gifts and all the books. How nice! Truly you fill my cup! So many events, experiences and conversations during this last five years have filled my cup again and again. “Fill Your Cup” was our 2011 theme. There are so many ways our cup gets filled. When we think back, often we are surprised how many of our daily experiences have provided the joy, strength and comfort that replenished our souls, and what a variety. God is so good! “Listen” is our 2012 theme. Listening can fill our cup. Listening is a part of prayer. Our relationship with God can be enriched as we listen to every area of our daily life: home, at church, at work, at school, in the car, at the mall, outside. As you all know, deliberately listening for the Spirit can bring surprising results. What will we hear . . . when we shop, as we eat, go for a walk, when our favorite music plays, reading a book, carrying on a conversation, attending a workshop, watching our favorite sports team win . . or lose? I look forward to hearing what you hear. Thank you for these last five years! God is always with us so the future holds great promise for HPC. God’s everlasting love and mercy are beyond our wildest dreams. “In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God and the Word was God, the Word was in the beginning with God.
